There were deer throughout the park.
This is one of the rare virgin groves of sequoia trees in the Sierra Nevada. There are about 200 trees in this grove.
Sequoias grow to be very old and have few enemies. Toppling, because of a shallow root system, is the most common cause of death.
This group of trees are called "Bachelor and Three Graces".
