We had to drive up this grade in Bubba in order to get to Yosemite National Park.  In the distance, you can see the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir, San Francisco's water supply.
We made it.  This sign is high on the mountain.  We will descend into the valley and spend most of our time there.  Some of the higher parts of the park are still closed for the winter.
As we begin our descent into Yosemite Valley, you can see it is long and narrow.  At the end of the valley, you can see Bridalveil Falls.  The main part of the valley is around the corner to the left of the falls.
A closeup view of Bridalveil Falls.
They grow big pine trees in this National Park.
And bigger ones yet.  We just don't see these big trees in our part of the country.
Spring was in the air and dogwoods were in full bloom.
El Capitan.  What more can be said?
