Bodie is very remote and boasts some of the worst weather in the state. Winter temperatures often plunged to 30 below with 100 mph winds. Summers were blisteringly hot. While we were there, there was a major sleet storm. It was 44 degrees when we left Bodie. When we reached Hwy 395 in 13 miles, the temperature was 59.
