Our campsite at French Camp.  There was a wonderful creek just across from our site.
We drove 9 miles north of our campground to the Mosquito Flats Trailhead at 10,500 feet.  The trail followed Rock Creek through into the John Muir Wilderness.
We followed Monarch Pass trail toward a series of alpine lakes.  The first lake we encountered was Mack Lake.
It was what the Canadians call an "impossible blue" day.
Marsh Lake, the second lake we encountered.
Hart Lake, the third lake on our hike.
Taking a break by a babbling brook.  We needed it after hiking at 12,000 feet altitude.  That's not easy for flatlanders!
Ann at Hart Lake.  Jerry says if Heaven's this beautiful, we've got it made.
