Harley was so happy to have much-needed freedom during our 3 nights at Cottonwood Creek.  He deserved it after spending over 4 months in a trailer park.  Strangely, he kept burying his favorite toy, "Red", and digging him back up.  Not sure what that meant.
We took day trips into Sierra City and Downieville.  We especially like Downieville as it looks much like it must have in the gold rush days.
Harley loved Bootleg Campground in the Toiyabe National Forest.  Again, he employed his digging skills.
We loved this sign in Sierra City.
Leaving Cottonwood Creek, we took Hwy 28 south along the east side of Lake Tahoe.
Heading south on Highway 395.
The road to Bodie Historical Park.  There was a major storm while we were there, including sleet.
Bodie may be the best preserved ghost town in the country with many of the buildings still intact and full of furnishings, just as they were left when the gold rush ended.
