Looking at the power plant from the base of the mill. The mill was all electric with the power supplied by diesel generation and backup steam generation.
The mill building is reported to be the tallest wooden structure in North America. The Kennecott mines netted more than $100 million in profits for the investors.
We had lunch at the restored Kennicott Glacier Lodge. It also has hotel rooms.
