There is a fairly large bison herd in the park.  They clearly were getting ready for winter and didn't mind who got in their way.  You will see in later photos that they tend to use the path of least resistance when moving from place to place, in order to conserve their energy for the long winter months ahead.
Being in the park during cooler temps enabled us to see more of the "smoking" areas.
A lone fisherman in the Madison river fishing near where a hot spring flows into it.
Another waterfall . . . you know how Annie loves waterfalls!
Snow capped peaks in the park warned us that winter was approaching.  We would get a taste of it before we left the park.
We took a lot of photographs of warm pools, hot springs and geysers during this trip. Because of the cooler air, the steam venting was more pronounced, as opposed to the summer months.
The steam made for a beautiful and, yet, sort of eerie adventure.
