Traveling toward the north entrance at Mammoth Hot Springs, we had snow!
The Mammoth Hot Springs area is like no other part of the park.
Overlooking one of the park's numerous lakes.
The Roosevelt Arch was built at the park's first entrance, just south of Gardiner, MT, in 1903..
Pronghorn antelope can be seen all over Wyoming and Montana.  They are beautiful creatures.
Due to its year-round access and comparatively mild winters, Mammoth has always been the headquarters for the park.  The administrative offices are housed in a building that used to be part of Fort Yellowstone, established to maintain and protect the Yellowstone area before it became a national park.
All around the old fort and administrative buildings you can see elk.  Look at the rack on this old boy!
