Another almost vertical outcropping.
We drove back to the Red Canyon Overlook, before we left the area, and saw yet another small herd of sheep resting in shade of a Ponderosa Pine.
Leaving the Flaming Gorge area, we headed south toward Vernal, UT.  US 191 was a crooked and steep road, as evidenced by this sign.  The total downhill run was nine miles.  How'd you like to face this in Bubba?  Can be kinda scary trying to hold Bubba back without burning up the brakes but Jerry has become an expert in such maneuvers.
The drive was so beautiful with, as usual, constantly changing scenery.
Just before reaching Vernal, we topped a steep hill and an incredible valley opened up before us.  All we could say was, "WOW!"
Never a dull moment in this part of the country!
The landscape changed back to desert as we left Vernal, headed east to Colorado on US 40.
