| Just south of Thermopolis is the Wind River Canyon, home to the Wind River Indian Reservation. The river flows north, emptying into the Big Horn River just 4 miles south of Thermopolis. |

| Hot Springs State Park, Wyoming's first state park, is located at the edge of town. In addition to a number of hot springs, it is also the home of the Wyoming state bison herd. Roads loop through the pasture enabling visitors to get a close-up look at the herd. This old boy is still in his molting stage. Before long, he will be putting on a new coat for winter. |
