Here is one of several shots taken to try and scale the size of these trees. See Pearl at the far end of the parking lot.
Here is a second attempt at scaling. Also note the burned bark on one of the trees. Since these trees live so doggone long, they are scorched by natural and man made fires every few years.
The General Grant Tree. Don't ask me why it is called The Nation's Christmas Tree.
Kings Canyon NP and Sequoia NP share a common border. So, you drive out of one park and into the other one.
Here is my final attempt to present a proper prospective of the magnitude of these trees.
