The first Cape Henry lighhouse, the first project authorized by our first federal government.  Cost $17,500 to build.
Cape Henry, a significant place in our history.  It is located within the Army's Fort Story, VA.
Standing at the spot where a wooden cross was first erected back in 1607 by English colonists.
The current granite cross was erected in 1935 to forever mark the spot where the colonists landed.
Statue of Francois Joseph Paul de Grasse, admiral of the French armada that fought the final naval battle of the Revolutionary War just off the Cape Henry coast.
The Atlantic Ocean as it must have looked to the first colonists minus the rock breakers.
The second and current lighthouse at Cape Henry.  It was built in the 1880's and is still in use today.
