Malaria is a problem in this area.  The government requires all buildings to be periodically treated and marked as such. 
The Lost Cathedral of Satevo was built in the 1700's by Jesuit priests, replacing an earlier Spanish mission built in the 1600's.
Thanks to government funds, the Cathedral is undergoing renovations.
