The spiral staircase winds around the water feature. The sound of that waterfall is certainly pleasing. We had a delightful stay here with Carl and Cheryl.
With Mexico behind us, we turned our attention to the Bay Area. What a beautiful city San Francisco is. Looking at downtown from the Presidio area.
Jerry about to enter Perry's. This was his brother's favorite hangout for 35 years or so. Coincidentally, for the ten years Carl lived in San Francisco, this was also his watering hole.
Looking at a huge Chinese freighter heading to the Oakland docks. Just about to pass Alcatraz island.
No trip to northern California is complete without a trip to the wine country. Here we are heading toward the Kunde tasting room in Sonoma.
Next stop was the Chateau St. Jean Winery. They have a beautiful courtyard and flower garden.
Looking out at the Sonoma countryside from Chateau St. Jean.
Jerry and his brother, Jim, tasting at Chateau St. Jean. From the looks of the picture, the photographer may have had one taste too many.
