One of the prettiest campgrounds we have found was The Hilton Head Motorcoach Resort in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The azaleas were in full bloom and the facilities were exceptional.
Biking on the beaches of Hilton Head. What a life!
We camped at Stephen C. Foster State Park, deep in Georgia's Okefenokee swamp.
We enjoyed a boat tour through the Okefenokee swamp. Okefenokee means "land of the moving earth".
Ahhhhhh - time in the warm Georgia sun.
We had a visitor that Jerry nicknamed "Balls" for obvious reasons. We were a little apprehensive as he showed up during daylight hours. He was fun to watch, especially when he found a piece of fried chicken in the woods and brought it to our campsite to munch on.
We rented a canoe at Blackwater River State Park, as we crossed the Florida panhandle, and took a wonderful float trip. The water was tannic but clear and the river's bottom was granite sand, much like Destin's beaches. The Blackwater is the only pristine white sand river in the U.S.
The scenery was so beautiful along the river and made us wish for home and the Buffalo.
