Ann's Journal
The summer of 2013 was a strange one, indeed.  Our intent was to spend two months roaming around in Montana and Wyoming.  But we just couldn't seem to escape the heat.  Ironically, it was cooler back home than it was in either of the states we were visiting "to escape the heat".  So, after tiring of the heat, we packed up and headed to Leadville, Colorado, one of our favorite Rocky Mountain destinations.

Leadville sits in a high mountain valley surrounded by snow-capped peaks. In fact, it's North America's highest incorporated city at a lofty perch of 10,430 feet, so we knew it would be cooler there, for sure!  And cooler it was so we spent two weeks enjoying the clear mountain air and exploring some new, and some familiar, sights.  We have been to Leadville a number of times and it seems to always beckon us back.

It was a great summer - but aren't they all?  The slower pace, the uninterrupted time together, the chance to be up close and personal with some of God's most beautiful artwork . . . who could ask for more?  We are, indeed, blessed beyond measure.

Happy trails to you . . . til we meet again.
