Colorado is famous for these tall peaks that thrust out above the tree line.
A very typical 4-wheel drive high mountain pass at lower levels.  When you really get up in the clouds, the roads narrow and get much rougher.
Marmots like the high altitude and are usually very plentiful.  Not sure how they fit into the eco system but they sure are cute!
Our first waterfall of the trip.  Almost always good for an ooh and ahh.  This one even rated a photo session.
Mountain weather is always interesting to watch.  Late on a summer day, you can usually spot a rain shower on one of the surrounding mountains.
Need I say more?  Wildflowers are one of Annie's weaknesses.
