Bryce Point, at an elevation of 8,300 feet, is one of the highest in the park.
Technically, Bryce is not a canyon because canyons are primarily carved by flowing water - a stream or river. In Bryce, naturally acidic rainwater dissolves the limestone, making the rounded edges of the hoodoos. But it is the freezing and thawing of the water that falls that does most of the sculpting in Bryce Canyon.
