Chitina International Airport where we began our flight to Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and the towns of McCarthy and Kennecott.

You begin to get the idea the size of this park - over 13 million acres - filled with glaciers, mountains and braided rivers.
The park is mostly accessible only by foot. It is rugged territory.
Wrangell-St. Elias home to 9 of North America's 16 tallest peaks including Mt. Logan. At 19,580 feet, it is second only to Mt. McKinley.
This park is the size of six Yellowstone National Parks.
