Our guide said it is a rare treat to see a mama bear lie on her back and nurse her babies.  It was our lucky day to get to hear the loud purrs of the two cubs as they nursed.
This mama has two babies, but you can only see one.  Isn't this sweet?
After our time with the bears, our bush pilot Zack flew us out.  Looking down, what a beautiful sight!
Katmai truly is a beautiful national park.
On the return trip to Homer, we were treated to more beautiful sights.
Two beautiful and very remote lakes.
A small, isolated Alaska town.  Local roads, but none connecting to the outside world.  The people rely upon either sea or air for connections.
One final look from the airplane, before we start our descent into Homer's airport.
A look at the Homer Spit jutting out into Kachemak Bay.
