Fraser River's Overlander Falls, just
west of Jasper National Park, on the Yellowhead Highway.
Looking down river from Overlander
Falls. Kayakers would love this.
Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian
Rockies, at 12,972 feet.
Twin Falls in Glacier Gulch, just outside
Smithers, BC. We hiked up to the left falls.
Moricetown Canyon, on the Bulkley River, where
the Aboriginals (or First Nation people, as they call them here) net
salmon in the summer.
Looking downstream through the Moricetown
Canyon. Notice how muddy the water is - lots of flooding from
snowmelt.
Finally heading north. This sign is at
the intersection of the Yellowhead and the Cassiar Highways. We
are headed to Hyder, AK.
The smooth pavement on the southern end of the
Cassiar Highway (CA 37) belied the 50 miles of gravel and 100 miles of
rough pavement ahead.
A hanging glacier along CA 37A, the highway
spur to Stewart, BC and Hyder, AK.
